How it works

From your input to editable MIDI.

Record or importRecord from your microphone (up to 3 minutes), or drop in a WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG or M4A file.
Set the detectionLeave the key on auto-detect or pick one, choose triads or triads plus 7ths and extensions, 4/4 or 3/4, and how often the chord changes (every bar, every 2 beats or every beat).
Edit and exportOpen the chords and bass in the MIDIGEN studio's piano roll, change what you like, then export the MIDI file.

Good to know

  • You get a chord track and a bass track, with the detected key and tempo.
  • The tempo can be set by hand if the detected one is off.
  • Audio up to 5 minutes is analysed.
  • Clean recordings with one clear harmonic part give the best results.
